THEATRE
There is a theatre at the Cité U with a varied programme, with special student discounts. There is also an orchestra and a choir (with the residents) that performs here. Check the listings of what’s on for the Cité Residence Halls: at ciup, there’s plenty going on.
There are over a hundred theatres and opera houses in Paris, and there is something to see and re-visit every day. The City of Paris cares about its young residents (those under the age of 30) and has created Youth Kiosks that are called ‘kiosques jeunes’.
THE PRINCIPLE OF THESE KIOSKS IS STRAIGHTFORWARD
- The theatre performances, one-man shows and opera performances that are offering free seats are all displayed on a notice
- You decide what you want to see
- You get an invitation token [‘bon pour invitation’] from the kiosk
- You arrive half an hour before the performance begins to claim your seat
- As these kiosks are busy, only two places per person can be given.
